“I do too,” I said and gave her a fly kiss through the phone as she did too, and hung up. 

I stepped into the guests room, it was almost full with women who are covering their heads due to the men, and other didn't. 

“elsalamu 3laikom,” I said. 

“W 3laikom eslam,” almost everyone said. 

I shook hands with every single one. I kissed both cheeks for women, uncles, and grandparents. My father called me to sit next to him, and I did. 

“Do you remember everyone?” Dad asked. 

“Not really, just grandparents, and uncle abdullah, and mmm uncle Jassem.” I said. “And yeah I remember aunties. All of them.” I added. 

Everyone was staring at me in a weird way, I really didn't feel comfortable, I need to leave this place. 

My phone vibrate and saved my life, I looked down at the screen, and it was a text from unknown Saudi number. 

"We are coming, hope we see you, -Rana&Ali" Idk why but I found it cute. I smiled and replied, "I'll be waiting, too excited to see you guys xx" 

"Lily,” someone called my name, I raised my head and she was Hala, “come faster,” she said. I stood up and went to her, she was standing by the door, and walking to her made me walk through the whole room. It feels awkward knowing that everyone is staring at you, and whispering. Hala pulled me as soon as I stopped front of her. 

“Don't you ever sit here in family gatherings, I know what they think of you,” she said. 

“Okay,” I said as I twisted my brows. 

We went to another room, it was colorful, probably it was for their friends gathering I bet. It was full of girls that I should call "cousins"

They were about 8 girls. 

“Nbi rab77 pleasee” an elder girl said.

“Nbi waleed,” Farah added. 

“Shrayekom n5lee Lily t5tar 3aib 3leena elbnt awl marh tjls m3na,” a girl said. She looked familiar but I couldn't remember who is she. 

“Ee 97, Lily choose a song,” the "dj girl" said. 

“I really don't have a good taste in music, and I only hear English.” I said. 

“That's fine, choose,” dj girl said. 

“Mmmmm,” and I stayed for about 10 seconds thinking, “who run the world, by Beyoncé? Or applause by Lady gaga, those are the only pop music in mind right now,” I said with giggles. 

“I like the lady gaga,” Hala said. 

“Lily, may I ask you a question?” One of them said. 

“Yeah sure,” I said. 

“do you remember any of us?” She said.

“Not really, most of you look familiar but I don't remember your names,” I said 

“Oh,” she said. “Let me introduce us,” she added. “I'm Haya, and this is Mai, and this one is Maha, they're sisters, this is Anfal, this is afnan, and this is Lina,” she said. “And those I bet you know them, Farah and hala.” She added. 

With every name she said, I remember them, it feels that someone is cleaning a dust from my memory, with every name she said, flashback hit me, childhood memories In Saudi were the worst. I remember Farah throwing some toys on me, and afnan pushing me from up the stairs. How misrable. 

“Nice to meet you all,” I said. And we all smiled. They started to talk about their school, university and I was lost.

someone knocked the door, we all turned. That girl didn't look familiar at all,

So she was Rana, she was so beautiful, tall, and elegant. 

She came in and said hi to all of them, and when it was my turn, she said “you're lily?” 

“Yeah...” I said. 

“How are you?” She said. And her beautiful pearly teeth showed when she smiled that cutie smile. 

“I'm fine, how about you?” I said. 

“I'm good,” she said and sat down after we shook hands and kissed cheeks.

I laughed.

“Je parle français aussi,” I said. 

Everyone looked at me with a question mark on their face. 

“I said, I speak French too,” I said.

“Olalalaa” Anfal said. “Teach us,” she added. 

“I'm a bad teacher but I can try,” I said. 

Suddenly someone knocked the door, we turned and it was one of the maids.

“hala, mama says it lunch time,” the maid said.

They all left and it was only me and Rana. 

“Rana,"” I said 

“Hala,” she said 

“You're so beautiful mashallah,” I said. 

She blushed and said “thank you, and you too,” 

“Hey Lily,” Rana said. 

“Yes?” 

“What are your plans for tomorrow?” She asked 

“I don't have any yet.” I said, “why?” I asked 

“I was planning to pick you up at the morning and we go for breakfast then roam around Riyadh, I bet you miss Riyadh,” she said. 

“Yeah I really miss Riyadh, Okay no problem, but I have one problem,” I said “actually two,” I added

“What are they?” She asked 

“First I don't have 3baya,” I said 

“I can give you one, and tomorrow we can buy another one, what about the another problem?” She asked 

“I think I can't go out in a public place without guards, you know for some privacy policies.” I said feeling a bit awkward. 

“That's fine. We won't go to a crowded place.” She said, “or you can bring your guards with you I really don't mind,” she added. 

“Okay I will ask my father first,” I said. 

“Okay, then text me on the number I texted you from today,” she said 

“Okay,” I said and we entered the dining room.

I started to eat, I was full by the 10th bite of Salad.

He sat on the chair and pulled me sit on his lap, I laughed and kissed his cheek.

I nodded.

I laughed, “I'm the eldest daughter, lazm yswii k4aaa,” I said

Suddenly my dad's phone rang and he whispered to me, “Lily come with me,” he said. 

My dad barely speaks English with me, unless it's something important and serious. 

We stood up and left the dining room. 

He picked up his phone and said “she's here,” he gave me the phone 

“Yes?” I said 

“Lily what's wrong why aren't you answering your phone?” It was my moms voice. 

“Maman, I'm fine. I just didn't hear my phone.” I said 

“Next time check it every hour please,” she said. “You scared the shit out of me I couldn't sleep,” she added 

“I'm sorry mom,” I said 

I never knew she cared that much. 

“I'm going to work, take care,” she said 

“You too, je t'aime,” I said 

“Je t'aime trop,” she said. 

I hung up and gave my dad the phone. I choke back my tears. 

“Whats wrong?” My dad asked.  

“Nothing,” I said

“I promise everything will be alright,” he said comforting me. 

“I know,” I said. 

“Yallah Ana ray7 l,3mank, tbeen shay luluwat glbi?” He said 

“Baba I love you so much,” I said as I hugged him so tight. He rubbed my back. 

“Bye,” I said and I went back to the ladies and sat in my place. 

Aunt muneera whispered to me “feekom shay?” 

I shook my head no. I didn't want to speak because I know if I did I will cry. 

After they finished eating, they all gathered in one place, and I was so quiet. 

Hala came and sat next to me, 

“Lily whats wrong? Is anyone bothering or annoying you?” She asked 

“Hala I just don't want to talk about it,” I said 

“As you like, but if you feel like talking you should know that I'm always here,” she said. 

I swallowed and thanked her. 

After a while I stood up and I went to the bathroom, I found Ali texting in the hall way, the sound of my shoes stole his attention. 

“Oh Lily, how are you?” He said as soon as he saw me. 

“I'm fine, what about you?” I said. 

“I'm good,” he said. “Ha 3sa ahli 3jbook? W Rana ahm shay.” He said 

It's not a good time for talking ali. 

“Theyre all nice,” I said. Imanaged not to talk so much so I don't cry. 

“Nice to see you again, by the way.” He said 

“Nice to see you too,” I said. He smiled and walked away. 

I ran upstairs to my room, and I popped by someone. 

“Im sorry I'm so sorry,” I said and looked up at that huge figure. 

“3adi bs rkzi, ya Lily.” He said 

“Sorry but I really don't don't know who are you,” i said. 

“I'm your brother, Abdulaziz,” he said 

“Oh hi.” I said 

“Hi,” he said as he smirked. 

I smiled and ran to my room. 

“Shwy shwy la t6ee7en,” he yelled out. 

I slammed the door and burst out crying, I locked the door and lied on my bed. About 3 minuets later someone knocked the door. 

“Lily feek shay??? Lily open the door,” hala said. 

I didn't reply, I didn't want anyone to know that I'm crying. 

“Lily please open the door, please.” Farah said. 

“Lily tbeen obok?” Aunt muneera said. 

I didn't reply to any of them. 

“Lily please, at least Rdi bs!!” Hala said. 

“I don't want to talk please,” I said, in a very low tone. 

I really can't handle it here. They're so different. 

About 30 minuets later, I washed my face, fixed my makeup and went downstairs, before I go inside I found Abdulaziz talking on the phone, when he saw me he said, “Lily wait.” 

I waited for him until he hung up. 

He came to me and said, “is anyone bothering you?” 

“No," o said 

“Whats wrong?” He said. 

“Nothing,” I said 

“Are you sure?” He said. 

I nodded. 

“Okay, if you need anything i will be with the men.” He said
